A Marriage (Colleen and Terry 6/12/10)

The way deep
rhythm
steadies itself
to breath
searching for
balance,
control

calm, careful, succinct

Like a fluted breeze
gushing
pummeling
asphyxiating
solid rock

bellowing delight

A soprano’s call
embraced
by baritone arms,
nature’s orchestra
proclaims

love.

  1. Beth, I think this poem is moving! Thanks for allowing me to read it. One can see how the natural world influences your outlook. And to me your love for language is apparent and you represent it well. "Fluted", beautiful word in this context.

Well, our blog is probably less mature and certainly less succinct. But one good turn deserves another. You'll like the quote my brother put up top, anyway. http://thesecretthread.blogspot.com.
I posted my most recent story up there although it's too long for that venue. I just didn't know where else to put it! Happy Easter. Hope this week hasn't been too jarring! Cheers, Jude L
